Garmin 265WT GPS Navigator
Product Overview
Like all of the Nuvis in the 2x5 series, the Garmin 265WT is slim and compact, making it possible to tuck the device down into a pocket or handbag while not using it on the road. Unlike its predecessors in the 200 series, this model is equipped with free real-time traffic updates from Navteq for as long as you own it. It also contains more than six million points of interest (POI), which are places such as gas stations, restaurants, and hotels, as well as the ability to accept custom POI from users.
Equipped with a SD card slot, but not the actual card itself, users can add pictures, travel guides and extra maps to the 265WT. Included with the purchase of the Nuvi 265WT by Garmin is the Quick Start manual, USB cable, dashboard disc, vehicle suction cup mount and power cable, and the FM traffic receiver.
The rechargeable lithium ion battery in the 265WT will operate the device for up to four hours, depending on what it's being used for, without it being connected to a power source, allowing you to take it along with you when leaving the car.
Actual user review:
"I rarely get lost, have no trouble reading maps, but using the Garmin nuvi 265WT is sure a lot easier, especially when traveling alone. I can't compare it with other navigators, but I found it generally easy to use, and though the first look at it seemed rather complicated, I found I needed to check the manual (online, not with the product) only once or twice to pretty much figure out everything. The maps are key features in a navigator, of course, but I found the decisions the nuvi made were often better than my own decisions would have been. Tested it in my own "backyard" and it took me on some routes I wouldn't have, but which I should have, chosen. In other cases, it picked some of my favorite tricky shortcut routes that I thought it would never find. Most interesting was the time I asked it to return home by the most economical way, and it twisted and turned until we were on rarely used dirt roads throug the woods. Exciting in its way, but a bit scary if it had been at night or in unknown territory." - W.Brink (USA)
Notable Benefits and Features
With nüvi 265WT's widescreen display, you'll always get the bigger picture as compared to the 265T. View map detail, driving directions, photos and more in bright, brilliant color. Its 4.3-inch display is easy to read from any direction because of its sunlight-readable screen.
Hands-free calls are possible with the Nuvi 265WT as it is Bluetooth compatible, and when paired with a Bluetooth compatible phone, the unit allows users to talk hands-free and make or receive incoming calls all by touching the onscreen keypad or tapping the screen and talking into its built-in microphone. This, along with the turn-by-turn voice directions feature makes it even safer to find your way without being distracted.
The integrated GTM traffic receiver delivers alerts about upcoming traffic congestion, areas of road construction, and tie-ups along your route without any extra equipment needed. In most areas, the alerts are continual and all that's needed to view the information is a few touches of the display's icons. Lifetime coverage is included with purchase, so as long as you own the device, the Nuvi 265WT's traffic alerts and broadcasts are free.
Never fear getting lost in unfamiliar territory again as the 265WT contains the "Where Am I?" feature that displays your current location with a touch of the screen's icon. See your proximity to the closest major intersections, address, or emergency personnel, and even get your exact latitude and longitude. Also taking the worry out of travel is Garmin Lock, which is a built-in antitheft device that renders it inoperable without being in a predetermined secure location or without the user's personal identification number or PIN.
With HotFix capabilities, the Nuvi 265WT receives satellite information faster than ever before, and with maps of the continental U.S. plus Hawaii, Canada, and Puerto Rico, there are plenty of places to explore. Also, if you're interested in viewing actual pictures instead of 2D or 3D map views, the Nuvi 265WT is compatible with Garmin Connect Photos that houses millions upon millions of pictures provided by Google's Panoramio, making geo-location a part of your navigational tools.
Even if you can’t afford to buy an expensive sport's car in "real life," with the Garmin Garage feature you can select from a number of car shaped icons to represent your position on the map display. Choose from a variety of icons and change them anytime you like to suit your mood or for personalizing your GPS experience.

• "Bought this baby from Amazon about a month ago for my wife as a Mother's Day present. It has a speaker and Mic for Bluetooth calls from your cellphone. It has free traffic for life compared to the subscription based GPS's in the same price range. It also has a fuel economy feature that you can set with the make and model of your car. You can see how much it's going to cost you to get to any destination. You can start your own taxi service with this thing. I was already happy with my Nuvi 200 for over a year now, so I knew this one would be just as reliable, but with better features, and I was right. This GPS has the best Bang for your Buck. If you are looking for simplicity, ease of use and all the features you really need in a GPS. Stop looking you found it! " - M.Devin (CA,USA)
• "Great product, works well, as expected.
Pros:
-Bluetooth connects to phone (works well, too)
-Ability to touch and drag the map around the screen to view other map areas
-night mode turns the screen darker so it doesn't blind you at night
-traffic feature works sometimes (depending on if that service is available in the area you're driving in, and also if the traffic delays are up to date from the provider)
-speed sign tells you the speed of the current road you're on (not for all roads, but most)
-fast connection to satellites and getting map data
Cons:
-Speaker is a little 'tinny' sounding at 100%, but at 80% is not too bad
-power cord is somewhat bulky because of the traffic receiver, but not a big deal" - Brimar (NY,USA)
